The Bismarck-Mandan Home Builders Association is proud to announce that Kevin Fischer has been chosen as the 2007 Builder of the Year for our association. Kevin is recognized as a hard working individual for his attention to detail in custom home building.
Kevin is well respected in the Bismarck-Mandan community as a custom homebuilder. “I have a sense of loyalty to my employees and customers. They have made me what I am today.”
Kevin started his career in carpentry as a young man on the farm in Strasburg, North Dakota. After moving to Bismarck in 1981, Kevin worked for several local homebuilders from 1981 to 1985. In May of 1985, Kevin started his own company as a subcontractor in framing and finish work.
In 1993 Kevin bought his first residential lot and built his first spec home. This home won Kevin his first People’s Choice Award and Interior Design Award in the Parade of Homes in 1994. In 2006 Kevin broke ground in northwest Bismarck with a premier multi-family subdivision called Calgary Addition.
Kevin strongly believes in the Bismarck-Mandan Home Builders Association. He is very active within the organization, having served on many committees and special projects, and is always willing to volunteer if it benefits the association.
Kevin is a retiree of the North Dakota Army National Guard. He attended numerous classes and sessions on management and leadership. His main hobby, when not building homes, is Model Railroading. He has detailed train track layouts with landscaped scenery and buildings.
